Fishing Reports

The Store Report for August 8-11

The week has been a relatively dry one with no further rain until last night, in fact we even had such a fantastic day yesterday that we hit the slopes and enjoyed one of the best days skiing I think in 20 years!

The rain that has fallen so far over night has entered the rivers and at this stage they have come up slightly

The rivers have all cleared to a certain degree and lost a lot of their volume which is excellent, still though there is a lot of sediment to move and drop out of the rivers before they will fish really well.

Those who have been lucky enough to have been able to fish this week have had a mixed bag with the rivers inititally being very high and dirty. Most anglers have struggled and only the once the river bases have settled will the fish move into the streams.

Many of the tracks on the tributaires have been affected with huge volumes having washed out quite significant areas, but DOC are on the job and we hope that they will be reinstated soon. You will need to take extreme care when your navigating any tracks until such time as they are repaired.

Feel free to call to find out what is happening over the next few days, the rivers will slowly drop away and once the clarity returns to the streams the fishing should take off.

Feel free to call anytime for an update.
Cheers,
Pete and Stella.
