Fishing Reports

The Store report for July 17-21

Good morning well the rain is back but its not anything that is going to be major at this stage with the rain that is falling being just drizzle and unlikely to make a huge difference to river levels.

Rivers are still continuing to drop away from their recent highs that were reached over the weekend. As the lake levels and water tables are a bit higher now, the river volumes take a little longer to recede than they had previously.

Anglers that have fished this week have endured heavy coloured water and difficult conditions at the start of the week , but as the weather improved so has the fishing.

The Tongariro recovered quite quickly and has fished on and off, some parts of the river better than others. Fish are holding in water that anglers have not prospected as there simply is so much water to fish.

The smaller streams have fished well over the past couple of days and should continue to even though they still have some real volume.

The Tauranga taupo river has fished very well with good fish and numbers taken over the middle part of the week.

Fishing inside to the river mouths also as option for the next few days, with rain forecast it's hard to know how much we will get, but at this stage it looks as if its going to be skiffy rain and not too much, lets hope so.

Please feel free to call us if you're in need of a report or accommodation,

cheers,
