 BOATFISHING TRIPS IN WELLINGTON

Wellington is one of New Zealand’s best kept fishing secrets. Within an hour from the city you can be out catching BIG fish in the comfort of the fully surveyed 62ft DANIEL from Seaview.

Daniel (below)

Pete and John will look after you from start to finish offering the best possible service and fishing to make your day a memorable one. Both are qualified skippers, good cooks and very experienced fishermen. Combined John and Pete have over 25 years of charter experience and over 50 years fishing experience in the local waters and around the country.

Daniel is berthed at Seaview Marina and is operating on the south coast out to Nicholsons trench. The area is rich with groper, bass and bluenose as well as sharks and other interesting species (as well as broadbill and bluefin tuna potential). The inshore fishing is very productive for blue cod and tarakihi as well as crayfish.

We see dolphins and whales often during summer months and there always albatross out wide.

CRAYFISH/SCALLOPS (In season)  We can put a diver down or will attempt to have pots set or tow a dredge when possible, however this is subject to weather conditions. Please ask us about this when booking.

FISH FILLETING - On the way home we will prepare your catch so you can walk off with a nice bag of fillets or steaks

PHOTOS - We can take photos and video during the day if required. Please ask about this when booking. There may be an extra cost.

THE MARLBOROUGH SOUNDS - An all weather boating and fishing paradise

The whole experience - scenery, boat, fishing, diving, service, food and socializing is second to none.

The sounds are a magical place to unwind and experience the outdoors.

We are surveyed for 17 passengers plus crew over the Cook Strait but can take up to 25 once we are over there.

You can bring your own fishing gear and food or organize your own accommodation, or we can provide it.

We can cook on board and there is a toilet and shower on board.

We can sleep 6 on board Daniel. Normally we stay at Furneaux Lodge at $45pp per night, they have cooking and shower facilities there as well as a nice pub with meals etc.

The boat leaves from Wellington and can pick up passengers from Picton.

There is good deepwater fishing at numerous locations if the weather is reasonable, Blue cod and tarakihi are numerous (if you know the spots). Snapper and gurnard are abundant but more seasonal. Crayfish and scallops are pretty easy to find in most conditions with pots and dredges or diving

Trips start at $400pp for a weekend
