Fishing Reports

The Store report for Oct 28- Nov 3

Good morning what a week! At least this weekend we can get some sleep after the past few weeks of rugby. We might even be able to get the lawns and a bit of the garden done?

We have had an interesting week with sunshine and lovely warm temperatures to start with and cooler, damp and windy later this week. The rain has not really come to anything other than run off and we still have rain in the forecast for the next few days with some sunshine after that.

Rivers are all in excellent condition, with the rain that we had the previous week having now fully moved through and rivers are back to normal levels. The fishing over that period was difficult at times but as the rivers have recovered the fish moved and the fishing really has been good. Some well- conditioned fish and plenty of them has been the pattern. Both the wet and the nymphers have enjoyed great results and the temperatures easing has also encouraged the fish to move and feed.

We have had a great deal of pressure from anglers over recent weeks but the number of larger groups is easing after the World Cup. The next few weeks are always a great time to be on the water as other activities compete for fishing time and it makes it an ideal time to get out.
River mouths have had no pressure other than those that are regulars and the fishing has been good over recent days and nights. Little pressure and good numbers of fish moving and with some particularly nice fish being caught.

Lake fishing has challenging because of the wind, but the next few days looks as if we might get a few clear patches and some sunshine. The lake edge has cleared the heavier water from last week and the fish have moved into the shallower water again.
