Fishing Reports

The Store report for Sept 29-4 Oct

It’s a good time to get out onto the water with less pressure than we have had in the earlier part of the month. September must have a marker out to remind anglers to get out onto the water by the numbers that have been through over recent days. The weather has remained settled and we have had little wind with some really curly frosts in the mornings but generally lovely sunny warm spring days which are perfect for fishing.

We have had no further rain which is a pain to a point but in return the fish have still been moving in good numbers and most anglers have had some great fishing despite the lack of water.

We have a bit of rain in the forecast but it may be just a sprinkle, however I think most will be glued to the TV watching the League and rugby, and I don’t blame them as it’s been hard not to take part.

We have had some pressure on the big river to some degree with a good number of visitors taking the opportunity to fish here which is fantastic. For those that are keen to get onto the water the Tongariro has so much water to fish it’s hard to make a choice sometimes and generally speaking the fishing has really been quite good.

There has been little pressure at the mouths and they have continued to fish well with great conditions other than the early morning frosts which are for the hardy only!

Boating has been productive too with fish holding shallower and the lake edge producing some great results.

Take care on the water and feel free to call for an update and or accommodation cheers Pete and Stella 073868953
