Good morning, fantastic weather, frosty mornings and sunny days.
With rainfall due over the next day combined with a wind change to the south should encourage even more fish into the rivers.
The fishery as a whole doesn’t need much more water as the water table and the lake / river levels are relatively high for this time of the year, any further heavy rain may tip the balance which is something we are not in need of at present.
The river volumes colour and conditions are perfect for both anglers and fish alike and therefore there is little reason not to get onto the water. We have been waiting for these perfect conditions for a while and there are few anglers that haven’t enjoyed some of the very productive fishing over recent days.
Lake Rotoaira opens today the first of September with the regulars out on the lake early to take advantage of the great conditions.
River mouths have had little in the way of pressure and have continued to fish well with lots of choice, little wind and good rips.
Lake fishing likewise has been really quite productive, fish are holding at all levels and those harling have picked up good fish.
