Good morning, bring on the rain and lots of it. And a dash of snow would be just what we could do with at the moment. We have had uge frosts over the past weekand very cold cool temperatures. The frost and very cold southerly breezes has made it extremely uncomfortable for those that have tried to fish any of the rivers. There has been nothing in the way of rain, but the weekend looks as if it may treat us to some sort in the way of showers at some stage. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
For those that have fished over recent days the earlier part of the week has been hard. There are certainly fish that are moving and those that are targeting water that has fish holding especially with a wet line and smaller patterns are getting some fish. Generally though fishing is quite hard at present.
Some have fished the river mouths when the frost and cold has allowed and found a few fish that have meandered in but generally the mouths have been a little tough also, with fish holding out of the reach of even the best anglers.
There has been quite a bit of pressure too as anglers have presumed that the fish must be in the rivers but not made allowances for the lack of water. Fishing, as I always say, to the conditions does make sense and for those that have fished wets, fished busier water and often after the sun has gone off the water have rolled a few fish, and some nice ones too.
Boaties have contended with the cold and the blustery southerly that can a real pain but still there have been some good fish surfacing, most just off the 200 mtr bouy mark, and between 11 and 2 during the day.
