Fishing Reports

Good morning, its like summertime here today without the sunshine, its so very warm, makes me feel that we are going to at some stage get the huge amount of rain that they are predicting.

For those that have come a day or so earlier the fishing will be the best for the next day or so and if we dont get the rain until later today maybe we will avoid the big rush of water.

For those that have fished this week, the conditions have been fantastic but with a little bit of wind that has affected the Tongariro only and if you have fished to the conditions you will have had some great days. The rain that fell over the weekend has naturally worked through all the streams but with the little rain that we have had inbetween all the tributaries are showing nice colour.

Like most warnings of heavy rain its hard to pin point when the fishing will be out of bounds but we trust that we will be able to fish tomorrow if we are lucky, no doubt there will be some real pressure as its a long weekend.

The rivers mouths have all fished and with the cloud cover over recent evenings proved to be perfect condition wise. Keep an ey on the weather and the wind, fish inside the mouths if it is too exposed off the larger mouths.

Lake fishing will be determined by the weather and at this stage with the wind it may be a little dicey. Keep an eye out and be aware of the changing forecasts. Fishing though has been quite hard on the lake which is normal for this time of the year.
