Good morning another lovely day in our part of the world but not without a very cool wind that is racing around the nether regions this morning. No doubt it will be a little more of a nusiance where one is fishing and its exposed. The forecast is for settled weather but with stronger wind from the south east as the day continues.
Fishing pressure has eased a little which means that for those that have a chance to be on the water this week at least you could at least get into the spots that you want to.
Small numbers of fish are pulsing through all the tributaries at present but with the lake and river levels low and clear its certainly a little harder fishing that its been, and with a little extra wind that makes it a little more challenging.
To wet line may be a little easier today, especially on the Tongariro. Even those that have been fortunate enough to raft the upper limits have reported that they have caught not lots of fish but report that though the river has changed heaps there are still water to fish and fish to catch!
The smaller rivers all have fish, fish to the conditions, the weather is to be fairly settled over the next couple of days despite the wind, fish middle and upper reaches as you can as that is simply where the volume is. Small naturals and glow bugs the best choice.
River mouths have fished well but the wind may have a hand in saying what happens over the next couple of nights, inside the river mouths may be the best idea, though it will be over you shoulder on the T/t.
Lake fishing is still hard, a few fish being taken but have mostly been very deep and its nopt much fun winding in heaps and heaps of line!
Have a great day cheers stella 073868953
