Fishing Reports

 

The weather is certainly cooler, but clear skies are providing excellent fishing conditions in the sounds. Snapper have been scarce in the Kenepuru and inner Pelorus over the last few weeks. However those prepared to venture further out have been rewarded with some good snapper, kawahai and blue cod. Once out past Turn Point, snapper numbers improve. Yncyca Bay has been very rewarding, the preferred bait being pilchards with a good berley trail out. Old Homestead Bay produced some good sized blue cod. The most effective bait proved to be freshly caught mullet, which were numerous and quite a good size. Look for some calm days to follow and be prepared to travel for some good fishing. to travel for some good fishing.
