Fishing ReportsHawkes Bay Fresh and SaltThe weather has shut down the fishing in all but Lake Tutira and Opuahi for the present time. Heavy rains have filled the rivers and high seas will keep anglers off the beaches and out of their boats for a few days yet.
The big snapper are due to show up along the coast at spots like Mohaka South, Northshore Road and Awatoto. The 2-3 metre swell that is pumping today (16/8/01) should offer the perfect stir up to attract the bg ones when the sea settles.
The swell was breaking on Pania Reef this morning and Marine Parade beach is closed to the public.
Lake Tutira is turning on some good fishing for fly fishers with rainbows and the occassional tiger trout being caught.
September should offer great fishing in the bay on all fronts!
