Fishing Reports

 

Yes there still seem to be plenty of blue marlin out there. We have had a total of 62, including tag and release, since the beginning of the Nationals. Never easy to judge what is out there with the comparitively small number of boats we have game fishing out of Waihau. However, there were 3 blues and 1 stripey weighed on the 17.3.01. 2 blues a stripey and a yellowfin on the 18th. One weighed on the 19th and one yesterday and have also heard one boat on the VHF this morning hooked up. Quite a few of these fish have been around the 200kg mark. Only you and the weather man can decide whether it is worth the long haul here to have a go??!! Christine
