Hey there intrepid fisherfolk, Last weekend(10th - 11th Feb), a bunch of Manukau Sport Fishing Club members went out west looking for gamefish and this is what I have heard back thus far..."plenty of Albies in about 80m", "work-ups north of Piha", "free-jumping beakies out wide", "it was in our gear for 10 minutes, damn thing wouldn't have a go", "If it had legs you would try to put a saddle on it!" and "there are warm (21 degree) spots all over the show" So with that in mind for this weekend's (17th - 18th Feb) Westcoast Jackpot Tournament, we should have action a plenty!, that is if Mother-Nature plays ball....finger crossed! And for all you landbased types out there, a non-club member (bet he wishes he was) managed a beaut 24lb snapper last Saturday from a popular ledge inside the Manukau harbour not far from Whatipu...so there are no excuses..."just do it!"
