Whangaroa Report

Been out every fine day last month which was better than the previous month.

Good tarakihi in the deep water 160 -200m. The majority of hapuku in this depth are fairly small at the moment with the odd large one. Also there are some large gem fish around in these same depths,

The local blue nose spots are only producing small fish. Managed to score half a dozen skipjack tuna while on the move between spots last week so they are still around.

Kings have been a bit scarce over the last couple of weeks, & have to clock up the miles to find them now. Snapper seem to be making a move in at the moment, lot of pan sized ones in close larger ones are out deep, 60m seems to be a good depth.

No reports of any tarakihi in close yet. Good slimey mackeral and koheru in the harbour
