Good morning what a fantastic bit of weather we are enjoying at present and it looks as if we may continue to get this settled weather for a time yet. We have had a little bit of rainfall over the past week and with that we have had a little bit of wind and cooler morning temperatures.
We have had lots of sunshine as well during the main part of the days and as a result the daytime temperatures are still really quite high. The longer term indicates that we are going to have quite settled weather which is great.
We continue to have reasonable angler pressure with lots of anglers many of whom are overseas travellers making the most of the great conditions at present.
The rivers are all in fantastic condition and all are holding surprisingly good numbers of fish though at times are hard to get onto as a result of the fact that the weather is calm and the rivers are a little lower and clearer.
Those that are fishing have fished a number of mediums be it wet, dry and or nymph to find out the best way to encourage fish to the fly or dry. The earlier parts of the day are cooler and the middle have been very warm so it has been a matter of reading the conditions. There are still good numbers of fish that are taking dries during the warmer parts of the day and there are also fish that are prepared to take smaller emergers or nymphs. You just have to get your line on the water and try.
Some of the mouths have had some good action but not all, those that are spring fed are fishing a little better, cooler water temperatures.
Lake fishing is harder with fish deeper though the smaller lakes and Lake O has certainly produced some great results for some time now. The weather forecast over the next few weeks looks quite settled too!
