Good morning, well it looks like we have had the sunny part of the month and we are going to have to endure some rain and wind for a while. The past couple of weeks have been fantastic and there has been rain at night that has just been enough to wet the ground and encourage a few fish to move into the rivers.
The rain forecast for the next few days may push the fish a little deeper rather than being so intent on feeding off the surface. All makes for good fun though and we have to this point had some great fishing opportunities as the fish have moved and the water volumes in the rivers have allowed us to take advantage of the various methods available to us.
The rivers have all fished to wet, nymph and dry flies over recent days but the next few days will see those methods challenged, with some volume and colour. Fish to the conditions that prevail on the day or give us a call to find out what exactly is happening.
River mouths have been quiet but that is due to the warmth of the water and the higher lake level this season that has made wading a little more challenging. Some additional colour off the side of the rips from the rain may make a difference to fishing these areas..
Lakes have had some good and some hard stories. The big lake has been harder at the southern end and a little more productive to the north thanks to the wind and presence of smelt.
Lake O has continued to fish well to those that have read the conditions, and has produced some very nice fish even over the weekend but to a few, not the majority. Fish are not feeding as they were on the surface but that may change with a change in weather over the next few days.
Feel free to give us a call for an update or accommodation anytime,
