Well Xmas time again and another year gone by. Thanks to all the Kiwi’s that have visited our shores and fished here in
V-Factor tagged a smaller one later in the day and Nevergiveup managed to raise another 3 resulting in one broken off, one jumped off and another marlin tagging later in the day to put them in the lead. Southern Destiny also caught a marlin on 37kg putting them in third place. Both Nevergiveup and V-Factor had picked up mahi-mahi each during the day so it was down to one marlin at the completion of day one.
Other boats were catching mahi-mahi and wahoo to bring up the points table however the big bangers were leading the way.
Day 2 saw conditions even better and everyone got away early for a 6.00am lines in. The marlin action was fast and furious with another nine being tagged for the day. Southern Destiny tagged another on 15kg and Eanora tagged one on 24kg. V-Factor saw five and tagged another two on 15kg for the day giving them the outright win for the comp. The event came down to the wire as V-Factor tagged their last marlin just before lines out.
