The blue water is closer in now. We had a shot the other day at the clay works but unfortunately dropped the stripey. Plenty of skipjack and albacore tuna aroundand we have seen some fast-moving yellowfin tuna, on recent trips. There have been several good stripeys weighed in.
The hapuku fishing is good and we have had some excellent catches in the deep and also as shallow as 40m.
Kings seem down on numbers at the moment but that changes day to day as it does with the snapper up here, Barracouta are still around but they should move on as the warm water moves in.
Been a big increase in shark numbers over the last month with a llot of big blue and makos about.
