Fishing Reports

We had a late start 9.30am , gentlemen's hours. Got onto the fish right away.The first fish was a 45cm snapper, nice way to start on the first bait.

Lots of blue mackerel today ,some good sizes also . These are great on the BBQ or smoked up and it's almost a waste to use them for bait. I normally use squid when mackerel are around .The pilchards just don't get through to the bottom.

There was  steady action all day on the boat and we were fishing about 9 miles east of Tiri, towards the Coromandel area.

There were several large workups occurring in the no fish zone which was good to see and a pity we couldn't have flicked a few baits into them as it would've been all on!.
