Fishing Reports

Fishing good in Gulf

We have been fishing the Gulf since we came back from the Tuna fishing in the South Island and there is a heap of snapper in the Gulf at the moment. We are reaching our limit in a couple of hours fishing with some nice size fish around the 7kg mark

Lots of slimys ,jacks and small kahawhai about too. We are using heaps of berley to get them to start eating and then its all on. Around the flat rock challenger point area are where we are fishing at the moment but most places like the Tiri channel, back of Tiri and the Noises are doing well,

Theres a few average kings at Anchorite and Flat rock and jigging or deep live baits are the go.  The water temp is up now and should see the snapper start their spawn

We will be in the gulf until the end of Jan then off north for the game fish season. We will be doing a few sword trips out the back of the Barrier if anyone's keen give me a shout and we have still some spots left for the 3 Kings in april and a couple in mid May.

Tight lines,

Cheers Mark.
