Garry, Dan, Russel and the crew from Fletcher Steel went out for a day - weather conditions were average. Out in the middle we saw whales , dolphins and gannets but could not catch anything - a big zero.
Nothing worked - soft baits , squid / pilchards. Spent hours trying for a bite. Burlied up 20 kilos, stayed out at the 50 meter mark for 5 hours and got one 5 foot frost fish and a nasty baracouta.
The wind came up around 2pm and we moved into the shallows but still no snapper to be caught.
A huge shift noted in the current water temperature, 11 degrees. All had fun but the chilly bins went home with only ice in them.
Sorry chaps , we stayed out until after dark and still no fish. 13 hours , 2 tide shifts and a big zilch.
