Fishing Reports

The Store report for June 3-9

Well winter is really here with snow falling quietly this morning, but only a smidgen. Forecast for the next few days is some scrappy weather  bringing us wind, some rain and cooler temperatures.

Generally the fishery is very quiet with everyone looking forward to some real rain that will give us the much needed volume for the rivers and lake and allow the fish that are holding to move.

We have generally had fantastic weather with cooler mornings and nights but great days full of sunshine and no wind to speak of. Over the next few days though we are forecast to get some wind that will scuff up the lake and perhaps push a few fish into the rivers  - lets hope so!

Nightime has provided good (cold) dark nights and the rips are well worth a cast or two for those that are game enough. You will need though to take care as the drops are closer with the lower lake level and its easy to wade a bit further than you should.

River fishing over the weekend was busy with lots of anglers hoping that the conditions would produce fish but the lack of rainfall and low river levels has encouraged fish to move through the lies quickly and they have not tended to hold as we would like them too.

Those that have been on the water have generally found fishing hard as the clear and wintery conditions have favoured the fish rather than the angler.

Often May can be wet and wild and with good volumes in the rivers, the fishing is correspondingly good too. The rain will come in time and with that rain the fish will move, its just a matter of when and being patient.

Lake fishing has been really tough also with fish deep and not interested in feeding.
