Fishing ReportsThe Store April 24-28Good morning, well the rain has come and the rivers in the fishery have finally sorted themselved out with having had a huge volume of water run through them.. Those that fished the latter part of last week found that the fishing was generally quite hard with debris and volume preventing the fish from holding or even being in the river at all. As a result of the volume through the rivers, many of the lies have changed Some slightly and others quite dramatically. If you have fished the Judges on the Tongariro for example you will note that the volume of water has just eaten into the bank creating quite a large drop-off, likewise in the T.t there are spots that have changed quite significantly. Many of the changes will be good for both anglers and the river, as the severe flushing has actually removed some of the landlocked debris that has been in the river for 18 months or more. The fish have taken their time to move and one might have expected them to have moved earlier but they won't until the debris and sediment are flushed through and the conditions improved The next few days should provide some fantastic fishing, there aren't lots of huge fish but plenty of good quality smaller limit size fish that are happy to test your patterns. You may nned to cover some ground to find exactly where the fish are, but dont panic there are a reasonable number of fish present, and plenty of water to fish. River mouths took their time to settle as one would imagine, but have now got great, well defined rips which are holding fish. The water temperatures having eased and fish are holding both in the colder water as well as off to the side of the rips. Fish accordinlgy. Wind has been a problem for some mouths but forecast to ease. Take care on the water and feel free to call us anytime cheers stella for accomodation or an update 073868953 From
