Hi guys, the 3 kings is alive with marlin at the moment.
Getting a hit is proving to be easy keeping them on the line is another matter. There are some real beautie's out there 140kg plus. The marlin are biting early morning or late afternoon this season.
There are striped marlin, blue marlin, mahimahi and yellowfin tuna. We are yet to see a black though I would say it could be any day now. I have done two trip's to the King's so far and have 13 marlin. The bottom fishing is also great. We have been really lucky with the weather thus far with our trip's having fallen between the low's that have blown in from Australia. Weather couldn't have been better.
There have been a few bite's from swords on the King Bank but so far nothing landed. Haven't been to the middlesex yet, maybe next trip.
There have been a couple of marlin at the Hook and there has been a few marlin off the Serville Cliffs. Coastal fishing is a bit quiet on the East Coast - there are fish there but you have to hunt for them. I am about to do a trip to the West Coast, I hear the fishing is great off Ahipara and Hokianga. As we have a coastal survey now we are able to fish anywhere we like.
I have a few spaces left to the 3 kings, if your interested give me a call - 021 226 4559
