Fishing Reports

News from the sunshine capital

Kingfish - There have been heaps of kingis around in the last week or two. We have caught about 10 recently with 3 from 26 - 30lb. Last week we went out to Hunters for an evening fish. we caught 2 kingi to 30lb and saw a few more. a shark bit a live kahawai in half and we got plenty of kahawai.

Tarakihi - we have been catching heaps of XOS tarakihi lately, probably the best i have ever seen. if you want some legendary tarakihi fishing book a charter soon, on the same spot (60mtrs) we have been catching snapper, kingfish and puka

Snapper - They seem to have come back in numbers on the west coast, we have had good numbers of a few spots up and down the coast recently. i hear a 15lber was caught in evans bay recently, havnt heard of any monster off the west coast yet.

Puka - fishermans fired for us the other day, as well as sth of makara. They seem to be back in good numbers after being a bit harder to get for the last two weeks of 2007.

Bluenose - are really firing at the trench at the moment - its a great time to get numbers and big chunky fish at the trench.
