Fishing ReportsThe Store Report for Jan 7-11Good morning, one hopes that you have all had a fantastic summer holiday and are still able to enjoy what is turning out to be one of the best summers on record for a number of years. The wind and sun have all come in the right combinations and most anglers have whether it be on the rivers or in the lakes have enjoyed as well some of the best fishing for a number of seasons. Lake and river temperatures are rising due to the intense heat that the sun has provided over recent days, which means that there will be plenty of smelting one hopes this season. Recent years has seen the conditions prevent us from being able to get out onto the lake due to the wind, but this season has been an exception. Lake conditions have been excellent with fish in close earlier in the holiday and naturally dropping a little deeper as the activity and pressure has built up around the lake. Those that have fished earlier with smelt pattern in the day have done well as those that have concerntrated on jigging with little wind helping most to find the fish and enjoy some good results. Rivers are low and clear but full of fish in all shapes and sizes, a matter of fishing to the conditions that prevail on the day, be it nymph or a dry. Rain is in the forecast which may stimulate a fresh with some fish moving into all the tributaries, lets hope. Generally though if your fishing to the conditions the fish are aplenty, not huge in all cases but there are a number of reasonable fish about. River mouths with the lake dropping a little and well defined rips have allowed the boaties to fish the T/t esp drop off for some great results.
Feel free to call anytime and if you need an update, take care and a Happy New Year, cheers pete and stella 073868953 From
