Fishing ReportsWINTERLESS WELLINGTONLooking at all the crap wather around the country, we have certainly being doing well here in the calm cook strait! Well, apart from the odd narly southerly the weather has been quite reasonable. The puka have almost departed for their annual spawn. We did manage a 90lber at fishermans rock 10 days ago. There are still some nice fish getting caught there by small and large boats. Palliser bay, karori and the trench have also been producing some nice puka recently as well as blunose and the odd bass. Xos tarakihi and bluecod have been everpresent at turakerei head and the trench. Ling have turned up in good numbers too in the deep. Big gurnard are a safe bet around the harbour entrance Surfcasters have plenty of redcod and spinies to keep them occupied with some good spotty sharks getting caught too. We have just returned from the marlborough sounds with plenty of scallops, blue cod, puka and tarakihi as well. OUr next share cost trip is 11, 12, 13 august. we have a few group bookings down there soon as well so i'll keep you informed. I will be revisiting LBG paradise at east cape next w/end with 6 keen fishos, winter fishing there is consistant for snapper with some surprising kingi fishing over the next month or two. stay tuned pete
