Fishing Reports

It's all coming together nicely

Jan 25TH  - A broadbill swordfish was spotted at the trench last thursday, plenty of bluenose there too. the snapper fishing is booming on the west coast with good numbers being caught from pukerua bay down to makara incliuding the mana bridge. puka are abundant too.

Jan13th - continued good puka fishing on the west and bluenose, puka, ling and hoki at the trench. the water temp is up over 17 in the harbour (good for snapper and kingfish). not too many reports of snapper and kingfish on the west nbut they are there just not abundant, yet.

Jan 4th - plenty of bluenose and hoki are now in the trench. the puka continue to fire on the west coast. rays bream have been in the deep in good numbers too.

Dec 22, the puka have been great in 150 - 200mtrs on the west coast. pukerua bay has been firing some snapper and a 50lb plus kingi was caught at verns recently.  the trench has been a bit quite for numbers of puka and bluenose but good variety to make up for it.

Dec 13 we caught 5 snaps at makara yesterday and some good puka out wide.

Dec 11 - good fishing at falcons shoal for bluecod, tarakihi and the odd snapper. plenty of moki on the sth coast
