Fishing Reports

October 28th was the last field day for the Winter searies,the summer "overnighters" start on the 18/19th of Nov 06. starting at White Rock.

     There was a good turnout of members fishing from Lake Ferry to Castlepoint Reef,and beaches in between. Three members fished all night at Otahome for some Spiney Dogs and Lemons,biggest Spiney 4.18kg caught by Tim Henley who also collected the $25 voucher for biggest fish of the day from Hunting and Fishing(Wai). As usual there were plenty of Red Cod landed and released,plus Kahawai and Gurnard.Dean Meyrick caught a Skate off the Castlepoint Reef(3.56kg)and  still had time to jump in the tide and get his limit of Paua! before weighin.

Our two Welly members are showing us locals how it's done by shooting up the points table,with Carl Arnst now in the lead,and Tim Henley in 5th place after joining late in the season,well done you guys,with the summer seasons overnighters coming up (fish all w/end) you don't want to be missing any!
