Fishing Reportsfishing goodThe water temp has been floundering around 16 degrees on the west caost and 14 on the south coast over the last few weeks which put the snapper off the feed a bit. Hunters bank has been 17 - 18 and pukerua bay has been 16 - 17. North of kapiti as been 20 degrees. Over the last few days the temp has gone up on the west and the snapper and kingis have been feeding better.
The weather hasnt been ideal but there have been some good spots over the last few weeks.
Deep - Fishermans and the 78 have been producing some good hauls of puka. The inner reefs along the 150mtr drop-off have been producing small to medium numbers of puka but still fishing well. Tope sharks have become more abundant too. We have been getting a mixed bag of xos tarakihi (to 6lb), tope (to 50lb) and groper (to 40lb).
Kingfish - Hunters and the north end of kapiti have been going very well for kings. the big ones have been at hunters and long jigs with assist hooks have been doing the damage.
Inshore - just lately the snapper have had a resurgence with good numbers around pukerua bay, sth end of mana and north of boom and makara. we have had some good snapper fishing in 20mtrs on the reef with tarakihi, trevs and bluecod as well. Steve Turnock recently bagged a 22lber at pukerua bay
Surfcasters continue to catch spotty sharks on the sth coast and north of pukerua bay. Eaglerays have been comon as well. there have been a number of rat kings around with the odd biggie as well.

KINGFISH (SPORTFISHING) TRIPS - 6am start $125 - 6 hour, $175 9 hour (include tackle hire).
SNAPPER TRIPS - 5pm $100pp back at 10pm
There have been a number of elephantfish caught in the harbour and some good moki on the south. Report type: Saltwater
