Fishing ReportsGreat diving in WellingtonThe diving has been great around Wellington since our last report. The water temperature has been around the 18 degree mark on the west coast and about 16 on the south coast. The visibility is still often around the 10 meter mark and the warmer water has seen some interesting fish arriving. Ray Tutaki reported a very large sunfish off Thoms reef. This area has also been producing good numbers of crayfish in the 25 meter depths. The west coast still has crayfish up to the 8lb mark in the shallows and plenty of snapper about. Plenty of kingfish have been sighted on both coasts, with very large numbers at Kapiti and Hunters. The frigate has been diveable most days with up to 15 meters visibility but the warmer water has seen the arrival of the large schools of jellyfish. if you would like to dive the frigate, give Splash Gordons a call. www.splashgordon.co.nz
