FISHING REPORT

The snapper have begun to fire again on the west coast for boaties, off the wairaki rise in 50mtrs, off wire rock in 30mtrs and off pukerua bay, kapiti and waikanae in 15 - 20mtrs. plenty of 20lbers have already been caught. 

3 kingfish were caught jigging off hunters bank last friday, probably more have been caught. we got one off the back of mana while puka fihsing yesterday, only a small one. 

The groper continue to fire big time up and down the west coast, makara 150mtrs, mana 150mtrs, back of hunters 135mtrs, fishermans 200mtrs. they appear to be getting bigger. we have had fish up to 65lbs lately

The trench off the sth coast continues to fire puka and bluenose in good numbers. bnose this side and puka on the other.

Terakihi and bluecod are abundant as usual. John dory are being caught most trips on the westcoast on livebaits and some good trevs as well. Kingfish have been seen almost everywhere and the water temp is 16 - 17degrees on the west. warehou have been seen in good numbers off karori light and should be caught off the back if island bay soon in 40 - 50mtrs.

The surfcasting fraternity has been quite but good moki and spotty sharks with a few snapper are getting caught on the sth coast. Kahawai , gurnard and a few snaps are getting caught in the harbour. A few good sized kingfish have been lost recently.
