Fishing report

11.11.05 Some good fishing and some tough fishing out at the trench. last two trips produced 5 puka, 5 bnose, 2 ling and a bass, previous two trips produced heaps. surfcasters - catching reasonable numbers of schoolie snapper in evans bay and lambton harbour. the odd moki and plenty of spotty sharks on the sth coast. when conditions are good the fishing is good.

1.11.05 just heard the 20lb plus snapper are running at santoff, foxton. more than 20 have been caught off the shore up to 30lbs in the last week

31.10.05. The puka have been firing at the trench and the west coast. a 8.2kg snapper was caught surfcasting by mathew renata in palliser bay and a couple of 20lb plus snaps have been caught in the boat on the west coast (one 25lber by mike from bp paikakariki).

Best bluenose in the trench is 22kg caught by lee silverwood. we had a good trip to the sounds on the weekend catching crays, scallops, bluecod, groper, tope, gurnard and tarakihi. forsyth caught the best fish, a 40lb puka. we caught a couple of stashes of cod at thoms rock last week and good tarakihi, cod, kahawai and a trumpeter off owhiro bay.

Surfcasters have been catching heaps of spotty sharks, a few moki, numbers of eagle ray and some schoolie snaps in the harbour at miramar wharf and oriental bay.

Welcome to our new charter vessel 65ft Daniel. He arrived at Seaview Marina midday thursday 20th oct.

He weighs in at 87 tonne and will be a cracker of a boat to fish on. A 12 person galley with full cooking facilities, accommodation for 20 and a bigger deck than our current vessel Melicent. We will be attempting to have Daniel in survey before xmas.

We have a few days and half days left b4 xmas if you are keen on a charter - from $95pp

Day and half day deepwater trips, 3 day marlborough sounds trips, overnight broadbill drifts
