Fishing Reports

The summer season officially kicks off in Kaikoura as of the 1 October with the Seafest Celebration setting the scene for the coming season.

If this weekend is anything to go by then we should be up for a great season. Diving conditions have been fairly consistent over the last few weeks with reasonable visibility and an ever increasing temperature!

As always the hunt for crayfish is a big part of the Kaikoura diving scene and there have been varing reports as to where and how many and what size these cryptic crustaceans are hiding. At the end of the day there is plenty to go round as long as we are all sensible.

This week looks a little bit tragic with the forecasted sea conditions not helping however remeber that in Kaikoura there is usually somewhere to sneak a dive in as long as you are willing to cope with a little limited visibility in some places. See you next week!
