Fishing Reports

Diving Wellington

The diving has been great on the south and west coast lately. There have been reports of some very large male crayfish being taken (around the 8lb mark) in 5 to 10 meters on both coasts. This year has also seen an unusualy high number of packhorse crays about our coasts, with Brian Bouzaird catching one in 5 meters of water behind Island Bay, the size of a dive tank. The visibility has been up to 10 meters at its best.

The F69 frigate is on schedule to be sunk November 12th, with the auction being held on board October 15th and 16th. This will be a great assett to Wellington's diving and we are already filling charters from other parts of the country. If you are interested in diving the frigate or doing a guided tour once it is underwater, give Splash Gordon's a call.

The weather people are predicting plenty of northerlies for the next few months, so the south coast should only get better and better.
