Fishing Reportsfishing hot at nicholsons trenchLATEST FISHING REPORT 14.9.05 caught 5 bass to 50lb and 10 bluenose to 25lb and a few ling to 40lb. 11.9.05 The bass and bluenose continue to fire at the trench. Our heaviest bass is now 82lb and bluenose 30lb. We also caught a seal shark at the weekend, a very unusual critter. the blue nose are full of baby hoki. Congrats to wgtnian hamish dodds on his 260kg bluefin caught at the hokatika canyon earlier this month.
Surfcasters are catching gurnard and spotty sharks over the wairarapa and plenty of kahawai and red cod in the harbour. one or two moki and trevally are getting caught on the local sth coast. West coast - boaties are catching some snapper nth of kapiti. nice gurnard have been caught in the big bay at pukerua and makara continues to produce good cod and tarakihi.
