Fishing Reports

Last weekend saw a few vessels venture out to sea, and a few Beach fishos hit the water on Saturday morning  before the Southerly change that Met Service predicted to come and duly arrived late afternoon.

Beach  fishing produced some good catches in  gurnard and kahawai during the morning but the change in the weather in the afternoon only produced spiney dogs and red cod.

Out at sea one vessel landed two groper one good size and tarakihi at Blackhead point, another headed off to Cape Turnagain and landed a good size Trumpeter and a few tarakihi.

On the Crayfish  front, Our Commercial Fisherman tells us that it looks good for the recreational fishos over the hoilday season, with some big crays hard in on the the rocks.

4         Stortford  Autos  Boating  Comp. at Porangahau  on the  13th  14th  and 15th Jan.
