The Fishing Show Report - 20/12/2004

Kingfish and snapper

I Spoke to Steve Butler from Earl Grey charters in the Bay of Islands yesterday, and aside for cursing the weather for the first five minutes of our chat he reported that the kingfish are starting to take up residents in the usual haunts. The 71 metre reef, Hansen’s rock, cape Brett and Rocky point. After a brilliant start to the snapper run they have gone a bit quiet. Both Steve Butler and Captain Bucko have reported long periods with no bites interspersed with short flurries of fish. So be patient and work fast when the fish come on the bite.

We’re starting filming for the second series of the fishing show shortly so if you’d like to have your say about what you’d like to see please complete our survey and go in the draw to win a Shimano rod and reel – click here.

On behalf of the ‘Tightlines TV Team’ (Kerren and Myself) I’d like to thank every one that has offered us their feed back and encouragement and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe new year.
