Fishing Reports

Some great snapper being caught in the last few weeks,  one 8.46kg caught by Judith Grootjans and a 6.36kg caught by Paul Anderson.  Still a lot of spiny dogs around, but if you are prepared to be patient you will catch the better fish in between times.  A lot of other species have been seen but it seems to be only the selected few that are doing all the catching.  Even though it is winter and the mornings are cold the hardy are still determined with going fishing. 

We have missed out on too many days after being swamped with the floods.  The ladies Comp that was destined for last February finally got away on the 12th June.  It is a great event with a lot of laughs and for a small club we had 32 entries and a lot of fish caught.  There are some great sponsors that get right behind this competition to make it happen each year.

If you are coming fishing from Tangimoana make sure you get a local to tell you about the bar.  Its a great bar and has got even better since the floods, but as any normal bar have a look at it before you cross it.
