Hi all,
I’m looking at purchasing a decent slow jigging setup and have narrowed it down to the Twin Power XD HG or the Sustain FI XG, 3000 or 4000 size. Happy to pay more for quality but can’t see a lot between the two reels apart from the $290 price difference.

Anyone out there familiar with these reels and would you recommend one over the other?

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Also any recommendations for a nice rod match?

Thanks

Probably best if one of Shimano NZ Service Techs answer this one as they will know what is inside these reels two reels to justify large price difference, cheers swordfishsteve

FWIW Alan Hawk describes the Sustain as 'idiotic' good reel apparently, but fundamentally not anything different to a Stradic.

I would go overhead for slow jigging myself. Baitcaster or small jigging reel.

If spin, Stradic CI4 would be pretty good, Stella 4000 even better.

Yeah very familiar with the Twinpower the extra cost is in the body of the reel which is fully sealed. Shimano won't call it waterproof but it's gotta be close. Think of it as a Stella without the expensive gearing but it has the better rotor. Had mine since September and as for the cost well it had caught its worth in fillets already its just about in positive money wise.

If it is purely for slow pitching deeper waters say 30m plus I would go 4000 if it's going to do shallow work and softbait then 3000. The 4000 could do light stickbait work too.
