Hi guys. I'm new here so let me start by saying hello everyone.
I have read a bit on this site and I have noticed a general hatred of set/gill nets and the people who use them.
I guess im off to a bad start because I'm looking for advice about making and using one.
In my defense it will be a lot smaller than most, with a slightly bigger mesh size than what is recommended for my target fish and location.
The idea is a 2.5M wide rig by 1.2M high. It will be fixed to a solid (steel?) rail on top and one on the bottom. It will have 5M of net so it is slack in the rig. The idea is something I can deploy and recover easily from a kayak off the beach. Has something like this been done before? Is 2.5M X 1.2M too small to expect a reliable feed?
Any thoughts on this are appreciated.
