Did a bit of snapper fishing yesterday evening with a good mate on his boat. Nothing happening on the snapper front so we caught a few jack macks and went for a look a bit further out.

Slow trolled a livie past a buoy in a channel and got busted off when I couldn't stop the fish getting to the chain.

Tried again and landed a 24kg king on 30lb gear.

Blitzed my previous best by 10kg!

Stoked!

Fed my extended family tonight on kingy kebabs wrapped in streaky bacon, and medium rare medallions on the bbq.

Head, frame and wings are with a pro smoker for a cold smoke.

Gonna take a while to beat this PB I reckon!

Excellent sized kingi Telecaster, landing one like that around those marker buoys and chains is a feat alright!
