Am about to start investigating venues in Auckland. Anyone know of any suitable?

Kumeu showgrounds is fine for sub 200 casting but potentially hazardous if casting over.

Avondale racecourse only available Saturdays as the markets on Sunday.

I do not lie about fishing, I willingly participate in a campaign of misinformation.

Avondale racecourse is used for sports on sat, sun market finishes 1ish but then gets cleaned up. Distance accross field is ok for 230 casts. but not safe with breakoffs. Have had the leader & weight go 355m!Prevailing wind usually blows in a direction that is safe.  Cheers Jeff
Service your reels at the end of the season & they will be ready to go, not seized!

JeffM has hit thnail on the head , you need an area about 300m across and 400m long. That sounds like alot of room but you need at least that. Safety first .

hey man. try around the sturges road train station. there is a huge patch of grass that runs parallel to the train tracks. its pretty long. no tmany people use it.
Winter yields few big fish, summer yields plenty of legals.
