Cheers Dave, do like the look of tied skirts, they just seem to fit better. Will go look for spare skirt to try.

Just make sure the neck of the lure head is narrow enough so the skirts fit nicely when folded back. Otherwise tie the top edge of the vinyl skirt and fit the inner skirt directly beneath it.

Let me know of you need any skirts to try with. Pretty sure I've got a bag full around the place somewhere.

Cheers mate

That has filled her out, (excuse colour combination, and length not trimmed).

Trialing options for an upcoming project.

I've always tied vinyl skirts, quite easy after you have done a couple.  There was a really good turorial in one of the late Jim Rizzuto's lure making books.  I had difficulty getting genuine Naugahyde in NZ, they don't have a distributor here.  They have one in Sydney, but postage was very expensive.  I ended up bringing several pieces back from the UK when I was there on business a few years ago.

But from what I have seen on some internet sites, you can pour lead into some of the 'rubber' moulds too.

You can pour lead into silicone molds but make sure you get the type of silicone that says its suitable for use with low melt alloys.

Blue and purple over orange.

Always a good colour lure that we had alot of success with.

You don't see it around. though.

Something a bit like this? The upper is actually like a transparent purple over the orange.
