Its been a while with work issues etc but finally got a window.

Got there just before sun-up - first car in the carpark - perfect.  First and second cast into a right hander pool two bends above the old crescent each one ripped straight into a freshie. First a 4 lb Jack - second a 4 lb hen which went back.
Both landed on small salmon/flame glow bugs behind conventional bombs. I had tied the glow bugs on size 14 czech nymph circle hooks - brilliant hook ups to the corner of the jaw in both cases.

Walked upstream a couple of bends to a left hander under the manuka shadows and got a third 5 pound fresh rainbow jack which jumped 5 or six times. Same fly.

As the sun came up - fish went down and only the deeper pools were worth trying. Bummer the avenue has been removed with the earthworks - but new lies will be found as the river changes.

Saw around 6 rods total for the day.

Nice work BB,

Just had 1.5 days on TT myself, wednesday and thursday morning.

River very low and clear - fish pretty spooky.

I landed 6 and lost 3 more, all nice silver freshrun fish but all 2 - 2.5lbers with one hen maybe going 3. Interestingly while I fished small naturals ( 12, 14 & 16s ) on the dropper, all but one took the copper bomb!

Was raining heavily when we left so thursday arvo / friday may have gone off!
