Looking at getting one of those small jump packs to take on the boat - just in case.

Wide variety of prices out there so does anyone have one they would recommend?

If you bought one and wish you didn't, a PM with the details would be great. :-)

Back last century got the super cheap yellow. From memory was about a 7ah inside..
That saw a lot of camping running floresnce lights in the tents.
And turned over a hi compression 220lbs on starter small block 350 cube Chevy.. And the big horn nps
Always keep it charged.. Makes batteries last long time
The tents on holiday small supercheap $25 (back then)
solar charger.
Upto a few months ago would run the sounder lights small stereo charge phones and still fire the 115 Jonny up in the morning

Not long ago scored a 17ah (or there abouts) lead acid same size as what was in there.. And fires up the v6 150 now have on cold morning. Haven't tried after a night out on the water yet.

I keep it charged up on lead acid car battery chsrger
Important to use the ight charger for right battery type

I still think the bigger heavier ones are the best.
Those tiny wee pocket sized ones have very limited reserve power.
If your motor dosent start straight away, you are screwed.
Keeping them charged is essential.
you can't fix an idiot with duct tape, but it does muffle them for a while...

21st century I don't think it Is bigger heavier..
Eg lead acid can get a bit of a bashing. Sure they have different to other applactions
Then there d and lithium solid state..
Thu will not charge back the older outboard alternates..
Thu matching the same type of battery back to the boat battery has serious advances
