BM our boat is under a largwe sail cloth.. for thesun.. just bimmini always left up. Never us the boat cover. Did yrs ago, but mould, cats mustty smells, condensation, damp
So now every time it rains, the rear deck area gets a good flush out with the freshest of water... and gathers a few leaves. Leaves brush up when dried out nps.. or vaccuum.
Cabin remains freshly aired and dry all the time.
All I do after wash down is a mist spray of gone in 60 secs .. its a strong non bleach disinfectant... and 'seems' cats dont like it.

I do really feel for guys like you PJ... it was last yr sometime.. think was in the Maritime monthly mag... about Harbour masters trying to locate owners of these 'abandoned' hulks around the country... seemed the problem was if they pull them out, it is a rate payer cost if cant find an owner. And there is no local government budget to cover.
Bit of an  illogical stupid catch 22 situation.
A harbour master sees a 'unsuitable boat' cant do anything if cant find an owner quickly.. then the rest of the responsible owners get hit with increased insurance or not insurable.
Then I bet IF harbour masters do drag out these boats, the insurance companies will not change their stance.
Damned if you do , Damned if you dont.
Narrow minded bureaucracy gone wrong.

Tomatoes going strong still.. few pumpkin and squash.. dwarf butter beans, radish, red and white.. cropping and new rows seeded, cabbage cropping, spinage finishing. last of the current beetroot in, new row planted out. parsley cropping new plants planted out , same with basil.
lettuces cropping, heart and lettuce types, bit behind on planting the next crop.
Just use compost from leaves etc out of the gardens, and kitchen scrapes. And the wash down from fish bins benches etc  either around plants or in compost.
Compost is spread/ laid as mulch about 2" in spring on top.. plants then planted. The soil has so much old fibre in now dont have to turn over with spade or fork any more.

2nd cropping period where we have had the bee hives in the middle of the garden. Thats made a huge difference to our garden, fruit trees and neighbours in surrounding area.
I plant , spread compost , crop, nps right beside the hives.
Yesterday was cutting up a old vintage car body/ chassis with cut off wheel 2 meters way for a few hrs.. didnt even get buzzed.

All our heads/ frames go to neighbours , just leaving skins. these and the scales dont break down well so they go in the bin.
