Hey guys,
I just have a couple of queries on this interesting looking fishery, as I am looking to get my regular 'fix' of spin fishing for trout in a doable day trip from Auckland:

(1) Is there a whitebait run of any significance and how far up the river will you get trout chasing them?
(2) Is there any sort of searun trout fishery down by the mouth?
(3) Acknowledging that the lower Waikato gets pretty warm in the summer months, is it worth a shot during the warm months or am I best to wait until the cooler water over winter arrives.

Thoughts on above appreciated.
Fishing is the answer, what was the question?
