Should have been done in 2013, but for "gifting" Oracle a lay day when we had the foot on the throat.

Maybe "Sir Grant" could shed some light on that day and how that decision came about. The wages of sin.

But yes, very well done indeed. Even better knowing that ETNZ boat was on the brink of self destructing the longer the series went on due to previous damage.

Clap

Well done etnz, still prefer traditional match racing though, best was never had to listen to Dalton.

How it almost fell apart.

"What I can tell you now, as a result of that day, we found some pretty serious structural issues with the daggerboards, because they had been taken so far out of range that they were basically letting go.

"We've lived with this now since that day or since we found it, and they've been tested every night with ultrasound - the guy's been basically living here, doing it every night - and it has been growing.

"So every time we do a tack or a gybe or whatever, I've just been going 'hold on, hold on' and they have."

I am pleased I didn't know about the problem with the daggerboards.
The stress watching the racing was bad enough. The additional stress of waiting for a foil to snap at any moment would have been pretty unbearable. I don't know how Peter was able to remain so calm and make so many correct snap decisions with that problem in the back of his mind. I take my hat off to them all.
