In the market for a new soft bait reel and was wondering whether anyone is using the Daiwa Freams, any feedback welcomed?

I've got one was good up to a few weeks ago sent it back for warranty repair but wasn't covered as salt had damaged the bearing, so not sure if I'd get another one only 5 months old and I remove it from rod for traveling, mine is a 2500 size plenty of grunt for the larger fish and smooth drag it fishes nicer than my lexa

That is the problem with the low end Daiwa mag sealed reels. People think they are fully sealed because its got the mag but it is not the case. High end like Certate & Branzino are fully sealed and cause no trouble plus have superior gearing.

For the $$$ you cannot look past the  Stradic FK had mine nearly 2 years no problems what so ever. Only real issue I have is drag, its far too much for a small reel but will try crabontex soon.

Cheers fellas, been using a Shimano Rarenium 2500 and Saros 3000. Both good reals especially the Rarenium but both have had minor issues that needed sorting out.

So I thought I might have a look at the Freams especially given that they can be sourced at a good price online. I have suspected that the seals might be somewhat over hyped and its not good to hear the horror stories regards trying to get spares etc.

I recently got myself a Stradic 5000fk which feels great so might look at sticking with Shimano and get a 3000.

Decisions, decisions.....
